About the Role
Product Managers at SuccessFactors lead the design and development of our cloud-based Business Execution software suite. They work with a wide variety of internal stakeholders—including marketing, sales, services, support, UI designers, and engineers—in the full range of the product development cycle. They also interact directly with customers and prospects, both individually and collectively through webinars and user conferences.
The Platform team is focused on creating products for internal and external customers. These solutions require a high degree of polish and quality throughout the customer experience of evaluating, purchasing, implementing, and using the software. Product Managers on our team sweat the details to ensure that the product experience delights customers from start to finish. We collect and analyze customer and market data to determine product priorities, and then we champion those strategies to ensure maximize customer and company success.
As Director of Product Management on the Platform team, you will lead a team of product managers to define and extend the world’s leading platform for human capital management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers, field personnel, and engineering team, while taking into account the competition and industry best practices, in developing and driving product roadmap.
- Gather requirements from customers, prospects, engineers, sales, other product managers, finance, and professional services consultants, and write detailed product specifications for the engineering team
- Perform competitive analysis in determining and prioritizing feature requirements for existing and new products
- Work with engineering, project managers, UI, technical documentation, and QA, to drive product development schedules
- Act as subject matter expert and develop sales and professional services training and support materials
- Communicate product capabilities and plans to internal and external audiences
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong execution orientation – you get stuff done
- Experience managing teams of highly motivated, talented product managers
- Think strategically about products, competitors, and go-to-market with bias for action
- Experience working with engineers to define software products
- Strong customer orientation with experience working with customers in a sales, consulting, or support capacity
- Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills
- Excellent quantitative analysis skills to take data as input and output actionable recommendations
- Experience with Software-as-a-Service or Cloud delivery model
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Technical undergraduate degree
Pluses:
- MBA
- Experience with enterprise software such as HR/HCM processes or applications including HRIS, LMS, ATS, or other business applications such as CRM, ERP, or financial systems
- Experience managing or marketing developer-facing products
